Reaction roles: let members pick their own roles
Design a role menu in the dashboard, the bot posts it, members self-assign with a reaction — pings, pronouns, teams, colors.
Nobody joins a server to fill in a form, and no moderator wants to hand-assign three hundred ping roles. Reaction roles solve both: the bot posts a message, members react with an emoji, and the matching role appears on them instantly. Unreact, role gone.
Built in the dashboard, posted by the bot
Pick a channel, write a title and intro, then map up to five emojis to five roles per message. Standard emojis work as-is; your server's custom emojis work too. Hit post and the bot publishes the menu with all reactions pre-seeded so members only have to click.
Toggle or one-at-a-time
Two modes cover almost everything. Toggle lets members hold several roles at once — perfect for opt-in pings like game night, announcements, movie club. Unique enforces one choice: picking a new one removes the previous, which is exactly right for team assignment, color roles, or region picks.
Why it matters
Self-selected roles are the cheapest personalization you can offer, and they compound: members who picked a @movie-club ping show up to movie night; members who chose a team argue for it in chat. Free servers get two reaction-role messages, Premium gets ten — most servers need exactly one done well, and now it takes two minutes.
